Swimming in the lake of Molveno

Lago di Molveno in Italy is not only one of the best lakes for swimming, it is also the cleanest lake of all. The water in this crystal clear lake comes directly from the Presena gletsjer and is wonderfully refreshing. It is not a coincidence that the Molveno lake is also called ‘pearl of the Dolomites’.

Both in and on the water of the lake of Molveno you will be able to enjoy yourself with your whole family. Put a towel out on the sunny grass field and enjoy a relaxing day together. Take a dip in the lake. The fresh water allows you to enjoy a lovely swim.

You could also play some volley ball on the field or take the whole family to play some midget golf. The smaller children will enjoy themselves on one of the many fun playgrounds. Also there is a huge pirate ship for them to climb onto.

Fun on the water

If you like being surrounded by water, go ahead and rent a canoe or small boat and peddle through the magnificent lake. The beautiful surroundings are also to be admired from a SUP. During this relaxing activity you stand on a wide surf board and peddle across the lake. This might just be the best way to experience one of the most beautiful lakes of Italy.

There are a lot of fish in the water and that’s why you will come across many Italian fishermen. They make sure there is enough supply to local restaurants of different kind of fish that are prepared in a tasty way.

In the surroundings

If you wish to see the lake from above, hop on board the ‘La Panoramica’. This funicular is situated only 100 metres from Hotel Lory and will get you to a height of 1.350 metres. Once at the top you’ll find yourself at the Prades plateau, which offers a fantastic view over Molveno and the lake. It is also a starting point for many walking trails but there is also a nature and climbing park for kids, named Sciury’s World. Guaranteed to have a full day of fun there!
